Abstract: This paper systematically studied the global distribution of the latest Permian brachiopods and ostracods found in the Youjiang Basin and the palaeoecological feature of other invertebrates and some differences have been recognized between the faunas from Youjiang Basin and Yangtze Basin.Brachiopods and ostracods from Youjiang Basin include abundant cool-water/palaeopsychrospheric elements, characterized by the cool-water and warm-water mixed faunas.Other invertebrates are partly characterized by pelagic elements(radiolarians)or endemic elements(bivalves). These facts indicate that the Youjiang Basin was typical of bathyal to abyssal setting and linked to the Palaeotethys Ocean.
